Welcome to Buttons!
Buttons Nursery offers the highest standard of care and education for children aged from 2-3 years.
Once you enter the nursery you will feel confident enough to leave your child in our care. Our childcare staff are experienced and qualified Early Years professionals, and we comply with the highest standard of care which is reflected in our Ofsted reports . In January 2014 - Ofsted said we were outstanding!
We provide a warm, nurturing environment where your child can develop and thrive, and be ready to move on to the Foundation Stage.
We offer an interesting and varied programme of fun activities, within a happy and safe environment, where your children can play, learn and thrive.
Each child is assigned a key person who will oversee their development and plan appropriate learning opportunities for them. We fully embrace parent partnerships and will work carefully with you to settle your child and meet their needs.
We ensure that home routines are maintained and can support you with toilet training and promoting speech and language development.
Our dedicated team will discuss your child’s day with you and are happy to listen and discuss any concerns. We offer flexible childcare, with a range of options to suite your needs.
We help children develop responsibility for themselves and their actions, and to become happy, confident, independent and cooperative individuals.
At Button Nursery we passionately believe in the unique child and providing enabling environments for children to learn successfully.
Our staff are highly trained and share our ethos and vision to provide an outstanding learning experience and a home away from home.
We follow The Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and children are given opportunities to experience learning in the following areas: Communication and Language, Physical Development, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, literacy, mathematics, understanding of the world, expressive arts and design.
We look forward to meeting you and your child.
Effective delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage, with its emphasis on meeting the needs of the individual child, will depend largely on key persons fulfilling this role. The main purpose of a key person system is to create a ‘family atmosphere’.
When looking at setting up a Key Person system, we have to take into account the sessions that the child attends, the hours the team member works and the compatibility between the child, parent/carer and the team member.
We encourage a child to choose their own key person and allow up to two weeks for this to happen.
The EYFS highlights the job of the Key Person as a link sharing information with parents and carers about the child’s life at home.
It is important that you and the professionals caring for your child work together. You need to feel comfortable about exchanging information and discussing things that will benefit your child. These conversations will need to be with your child’s ‘Key Person’.
This is the person who:-
· Is your main point of contact within the setting.
· Helps your child to become settled, happy and safe.
· Is responsible for your child’s care, development and learning.
· Takes a careful note of your child’s progress, sharing this with you and giving you ideas as to how to help your child at home.
Try to speak to your child’s Key Person as often as possible about what your child has been doing, what they have enjoyed, what they need to be doing more of and what you can do at home.
You can tell the Key Person about things your child enjoys, or areas that you feel they need support with.
The Key Person can help the young child deal with separation anxiety.
The EYFS principles into practice card says, ‘a key person has special responsibilities for working with a number of children, giving them reassurance to feel safe and cared for and building relationships with their parents'.
The welfare requirements of the EYFS explains the requirements of the role more fully, saying that a key person helps a baby or child to become familiar with the setting and to feel safe and confident, and talks to parents to make sure the needs of the child are being met appropriately.
We create a family atmosphere as we welcome in our children and staff each day.
Our childcare provision is very flexible – allowing you to choose from a wide range of options for childcare that meets your needs. Your child may also be entitled to free sessions as part of the Two Year Offer.
Please do not hesitate to talk over your requirements with a member of staff so that we can meet your individual childcare requirements. We have various sessions available and accept childcare vouchers:-
