Our school was a hive of activity on 4th December as families gathered for a fun packed Christmas fair. The event was expertly co-ordinated by Mrs Parry and Miss Williams, and included tombolas, raffles, lucky dips, art and craft activities, a cake stand, face painting, a gift stall and many other activities.
To the delight of the children, Santa was waiting in his grotto, and children also made reindeer food for Santa’s reindeer on Christmas Eve.
There was also a special stall where packs of Christmas cards designed by the children, and printed by Mitchell and Wright Printers, were on sale.
Latham’s the Bakers kindly donated some delicious Christmas biscuits, and the event was also supported by the Think Family, Think Community High Park Project leader, Rachel Wheble. One Vision Housing also supported our Christmas Community Event. We would also like to thank Porters for donating a Hamper for the raffle; Mrs Swarbrick for her kind donations of cakes and gifts; Lesley Kirkbride for her donations to our Community Café and Santa for taking time to come to our school during his busiest time of the year!
Children from Years 1 to 6 also showed their entrepreneurial spirit. With the help of Lesley Kirkbride, Tesco’s Community Champion, each class created their own special gifts to sell. Year 5 also entertained the guests by singing festive songs throughout the fair.
Ms Sullivan, Deputy Head teacher said, “What a wonderful turnout today! Thank you to all our local families for supporting our school. Over 250 people attended and made the event an outstanding success.
