Christmas Luncheon Club

Our school recently hosted an Older People’s Luncheon Club at St Simon and St Jude’s church hall. This was a delightful occasion for our older community members, as over 40 people gathered together to celebrate Christmas.

Not only did they enjoy a delicious Christmas dinner with turkey and all the trimmings, they also enjoyed a stunning performance by Cllr. Marianne Welsh, who sang songs from The Sound of Music and other shows, followed by our own school choir who sang to our guests as the afternoons activity came to an end.

Everyone joined in singing songs together and a few happy tears were shed! Thank you to David Whitehouse for providing the venue and a host of church volunteers; to John Heddon who provided funding for the Christmas dinner; to Lesley Kirkbride who worked with the children to make little Christmas tree gifts for everyone, and donated some raffle prizes; to Judith and Gina for cooking up such a tasty meal and to all the volunteers at the church that helped make this a memorable occasion!
