Macmillan Coffee Morning 23rd September 2015
Children and families at Bishop David Sheppard CE (A) Primary school on Devonshire Road took part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in order to raise money for Macmillan’s Cancer Support.
Our local ‘Boobette’, Catherine Gordon organised the event with the school and gave a brilliant presentation to the guests about breast cancer awareness and about her journey through breast cancer and recovery.
There was coffee, tea and lots of home baked cakes donated by staff and parents for families to enjoy. After school there was a also a cake sale where many families purchased some delicious home baked cakes. One parent had also donated a large celebration cake which was raffled.
Mrs Bayliff, Assistant Head Teacher said, ‘We were delighted to take part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and raise money for this worthy cause. Thank you to all the staff and families for baking cakes and planning this event.
Thank you also to the many families that came and supported us. It was a great success and we raised over £200 for Macmillan Cancer Support”.
