The Queen's 90th Birthday Celebrations
Mrs Bayliff, Assistant Head Teacher, would like to thank everyone that celebrated the Queen’s recent birthday party on June 11th. Over 300 people attended the event which was organised by the school and St Simon & St Jude’s Church. A singer performed whilst people enjoyed party food and a good chat with their friends, families and local community. We all had a wonderful time together as a community. Everyone enjoyed visiting our Art Gallery which showcased the creative work that the children have done to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday. We even had our own Queen for the day- grandparent Mavis Twigge, whose grandson George attends the school. Thank you to Brighter Living Partnership for supporting this community event, to the church volunteers for making the sandwiches, to Hayley Gibson for making such a wonderful birthday cake and the 100 cup cakes, to Porters for donating the cold drinks, to The One Stop Shop for donating bread and scones, to Bookers for donating the crisps and to all the children who baked cakes and made a huge birthday card as part of their Arts Week activities. We will send off the birthday card, signed by everyone at the party, to Buckingham Palace. We expect the Queen will be delighted with her birthday card and all the wishes for a happy birthday and good health in the coming years as our country’s Queen.
