Welcome to Year 5!
MATHS IS FUN!
Year 5 enjoyed a whole day of maths fun this week with some amazing results.
We explored symmetry through nature and devised our own fraction kites.
YEAR 5 HAVE GONE POTTY!
As part of our study of the Ancient Greeks, we have designed and made our own pottery figures.
We hope you like them!
OUR END OF TERM SERVICE
It was wonderful to see our Year 5 children lead our Christmas service in Church recently.
They treated us to the story of Papa Panov, an old Russian tale of a shoemaker awaiting the visit of Jesus on Christmas Day. The moral of the story was to contemplate seeing Jesus in everyone we come across in our lives.
Our thanks go to the whole class for bringing this old story to life and for leading the school in prayer. Happy New Year to all our families and friends.
OUR COLLECTIVE WORSHIP
We were so pleased to invite our friends and families along to our collective worship recently.
The children spent a great deal of time preparing the worship and made us all really think hard about the importance of our Christian Value of Friendship.
We thank the children involved and appreciated those adults who were able to attend.
We look forward to inviting more family members to our next worship in December.
'IF I WERE...'
The children in Year 5 produced some amazing poems inspired by the work of Eva Robinson who wrote 'If I were...'
After days of planning and redrafting the children devised their own poem on this theme and produced some outstanding results.
