Candycane comes to Year One
On Monday morning we had an exciting new arrival in our class. We found an elf on the shelf and decided to call him Candycane! Every night when we go home he moves to a new spot in the classroom and we have to find him each morning. We have been writing our Christmas wishes to him so he can deliver them to the North Pole.
Our Trip to Tesco
In History we are learning all about 'The Great Fire of London', we have learnt that the fire started in a bakery on Pudding Lane. Last Wednesday, Year One visited the bakery at Tesco. We made our own bread, looked around the bakery at how bread is made and then we tasted lots of different types of bread. We had so much fun!
Sports Skills Academy
This week Year One had some very special visitors from The Sports Skills Academy. We had great fun learning new skills including playing tag rugby, shopping for healthy meals and working as a team. Well done to Team Coconut for winning the most points on the day.

In French, Year One are learning lots of new and exciting things. Here is a song we are learning at the moment, all about counting. We hope you enjoy it. :)
We Love Reading!
In Year One we have a Reading Garden, where we explore stories together and on our own. We have talked about how important it is to read in school and at home, to make sure we become fabulous readers. Some of our favourite class stories are; 'The Artist Who Painted A Blue Horse' by Eric Carle, 'Hairy Mclary from Donaldson's Dairy' by Lynley Dodd and 'Superworm' by Julia Donaldson.
