All ready for Learning!

Going Potty!

Year 5 children have recently spent their time designing, making and decorating ancient Greek pots as part of their history studies. We are really impressed with the way they turned out. Well done kids!

Crosses for Holy Week

The charity, In Another Place, have invited our children to  create crosses out of anything that came to hand and share photos on social media.

These  can be an encouragement to others, especially those who have struggled with  lockdown at home, a reminder that the cross means hope, and that Jesus understands our situation and will help us to overcome.

The children really used their imagination!

It was great to see so many of you in costume this week to celebrate your favourite book. You all went to such great trouble and we should especially congratulate Tamzyn on winning the school front cover design and also Marie and Julia for winning the class award.

This week, our children put on the most amazing display of their homework in the hall for Year 6 to enjoy. There were some outstanding models and posters as well extensive writing to explain the complexities of the water cycle.

Thank you for those families who supported their children at home on these tasks, the results were awesome!

Get Cooking!

Year 5 recently spent their time designing, baking then tasting their very own savoury muffins. They proved delicious!

We Can See Round Corners!

As part of our studies in Science, Year 5 decided to see if they could design their own periscope for seeing round corners. After lots of cutting, gluing and trialing we eventually came up with periscopes that worked! Now we understand about how a light source is reflected through mirrors and travels in a straight line.

Nature Friendly Schools

We all had a wonderful day recently, with our friends from Nature Friendly Schools, Amie and Jenna. They introduced us to the joys of outside learning and we had great fun.

The children were particularly enthusiastic about the toasted marshmallows, the leaf hunt and the craft workshop. We are hoping we can enjoy more days like this when the weather improves!

Collective Worship

Our thanks to Leah and Michael who led our first class worship this term.

They have helped others out as well such as Julia and Dinah. We have been learning more about our Christian Values of Friendship and Compassion.
